i visited Olympia at
the 1994 Yo-Yo A Go-Go festival (7/24/94). at this point in my "
punk
rock" phase, music was definitely not the issue. its replacement
was DIY-than-thou. really mellow boring music, some good friends,
and a week vacation cramming 9 people in one van without seats. oh
yeah, and a whole lotta attitude and hype. if you weren't in a band,
you were SHIT. my only
memory
is that you can walk across town in 20 minutes. there was a happening
Safeway market, and a whole lot of thrift stores. otherwise, Seattle
is a bit of a drive north... i heard there is a
psy-
trance
collective in town now. that should be quite interesting :)
