i've come to the conclusion that Steven Spielberg is an unwilling participant in funneling through some sort of internal linkmemetic virus from space.  the subject matters he touched in his hey dey (mid seventies to the mid eighties) has so much to it, it just can't be a coincidence. internal link_Close Encounters_   (1977) DVDatomjacked inventory cache and internal link_Raiders Of The Lost Ark_   (1981)atomjacked inventory cache culminated in full dispersal of these very important ideas.  his other films touched upon certain subject matters, mixed in with his personal experiences... one example is prevalent in _Close Encounters_:  earth scientists use computers to decode music to communicate with internal linkalien visitors.  Spielberg's mother was a music instructor and his father was a computer scientist.  of course, the whole narrative tries to explain why a father would leave his family, as his own father had done.  his later works are unbrearably clean and sappy, but that's what happens when you make too many things.  the important ideas get diluted, and one also gets bored of doing the same thing (i.e. "progress").  hearing interviews of the director gives me the internal linkimpression that he really has no idea of the real importance of his work, but only craves for the usual feeding of his own ego.  as with most people,  alll they want is to "expand and excel" as an artist (yawn).  personal space/time internal linkrelevancy: 1971 (_Duel_) through 1981 (_Raiders_).  after that he just recycled his important ideas. - @Om* 2/16/2000
